Som i 2016 vil årets Grundig Cup i J/70 bestå av fire arrangementer, og det er den siste og avgjørende regattaen som er blitt lagt til et så uvanlig område som i den norske fjellheimen. Fjellvandrere i Jotunheimen vil kunne se ned på J/70-seilerne som kjemper om poeng og en førstepremie til en verdi av 20 000 kroner 23. og 24. september. Cupen starter 3. og 4. juni i Oslo, fortsetter deretter på Hankø 29. juni til 1. juli og så i Son 29. og 30. juli – før det hele altså avsluttes i Jotunheimen. De tre beste lagene fra de tre første stevnene kvalifiserer seg til finalen på Bygdin. I tillegg vil fem såkalte «wild cards» bli invitert, slik at det tilsammen blir 14 lag.

Moreover Yacht Club Costa Smeralda and the waters of Porto Cervo are set to provide exciting and competitive racing afloat and a friendly community ashore, which competitors and their supports will greatly appreciate.

The Royal Southern Yacht Club (RSrnYC) is proud to be hosting the 2017 J/70 Class European Championships from Saturday 3rd to Friday 9th June, in conjunction with the J/70 UK Class Association. Racing commences on Monday 5th June, with an opportunity for competitors to sail a practice race, then the Championships run Tuesday 6th to Friday 9th June. The Championships provide a great opportunity for teams to prepare for the 2017 World Championships in Italy in September. We expect a large entry list, with significant interest from Europeans and North America sailors. If required, the event will have a qualifying and final series, with the option for two race course areas.
